Today’s Mission = ME
Today’s Mission = ME
Ah, rain falling on the roof, morning coffee in my hand and kids playing nicely – today is a great day to focus on me!
“Start where you are” by Meera Lee Patel is a journal I chose to help me do some soul searching and figure out who I am now, as a mother, and wife and just ME?! I felt so lost not knowing what my dreams and hopes for my future were and sad that I’d not realized I’d never spent time thinking about this before now.
On this cloudy summer day I’m taking the time to open the journal and get down to business.

- My husband
- My kids
- Visiting with family and friends
- Taking pictures
- Shopping (even just window shopping)
Ok so 3 out of 5 is family related. That’s ok right? My family is important and I am blessed that they make me feel joy. This is great – or is it, ok I think it is, well 85% of me thinks it is and the other 15% thinks I need things that don’t rely on other people to help me feel joy. Does that make sense?

- Stop being someone who worries about EVERYTHING (as I’m now worrying about who I am and what my future dreams are SMH)
- Education is design/fashion
- Education in photography
- See Canada’s East Coast
- Learn to Golf
- Write more
- Learn more about gardening
- Have a retirement home somewhere warm
- Be more organized
- Hold my Grandbabies
Ok, if I’m being honest here, this list of 10 things took me 2 days to come up with. No joke – I’m still not sure how I feel about all of them but I feel like they are a good starting place.
Breaking down this list a bit – what have I done to start working towards some of these goals?
Well I’m writing in my journal today so I guess that’s a great start, I’ve enrolled in some golf lessons so yay me – since summer has come and some of the Covid 19 restrictions have lifted, I’ve been able to get out to the golf course a few times and am finding I really do enjoy getting out with friends and swinging the clubs. I am far from good but we are having fun and this is something I definitely want to continue to do.
Some of the things on my list will fall into place with time and I’ll have to remind myself to keep checking back in on it and plan to educate myself in other parts.
Here’s the kicker that’s got me worried a bit though – how does one stop worrying exactly? LOL. I’m laughing but it’s so true – if only there were an off button!
What are some of your dreams/ goals?
Do you have a hard time figuring out who you are and what makes you happy?
If you are feeling like you are on your path to self-discovery too – check out my post and follow along, message me with your thoughts and feelings – I’d love to hear from you!
